HF 397 – Iowa Economic Development Authority Policy Changes
FLOOR ACTION:
HF 397 relates to the administration of duties and programs by the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). Current law requires IEDA to limit contracts for services to no longer than two years. The bill, as amended by the Senate, allows for three years instead of two years. The bill adds “antitrust” to the list of items that would make a business ineligible for IEDA programs. The bill eliminates the Microenterprise Development Organization Grant program and the Broadband Access Joint Governance Board. The bill takes out IEDA’s role in the approval of certain local property tax exemptions. [3/25: 48-0 (Anderson, Zaun excused)]
